Communities across Potiskum LGA have applauded Hon. Salisu Muktari for a sweeping restoration of long-neglected public infrastructure, describing the effort as practical, cost-effective, and immediately beneficial to daily life.
Residents point to the rehabilitation of the Potiskum LGA Old Secretariat as a major boost to administrative efficiency, with offices now functioning in a more organized and productive environment, the once-abandoned Government Lodge has also been brought back into service, restoring a key facility for official engagements.
At the abattoir, traders report improved sanitation and better working conditions following rehabilitation works changes that are already enhancing confidence along the livestock value chain, in the health sector, the reactivation of emergency ambulances and Primary Health Care Board (PHCB) vehicles has strengthened outreach and response, enabling quicker access to medical services across communities.
Operational capacity within the council has also improved with the refurbishment of staff and official vehicles, supporting better supervision and coordination of activities throughout the LGA.
Residents say the focus on reviving existing assets rather than letting them decay delivers faster results and preserves public resources.
“He didn’t just start new projects; he fixed what we already had and made it work again for the people,” a resident remarked.
Observers note that the restoration drive reflects a broader commitment to sustainable governance, where maintenance and functionality are prioritized alongside new development.
With visible improvements across key sectors, Potiskum is experiencing a renewed phase of progress driven by strategic rehabilitation, improved service delivery, and a leadership approach centered on practical impact.
