“MY FIRST COPY BOOK”

This generation is drifting backward.
Back to that “My First Copy Book” era
where pictures were spaced between every few words
just to keep a child from getting bored…

Back when your imagination had to grow teeth.
Back when the world inside your mind expanded
as the pictures disappeared.

But look around now.

We’re raising grown toddlers with barren imaginations.
Adults who cannot process a sentence
unless it’s dripping in over-designed visuals,
animations, filters, sound effects
like the story must spoon-feed them meaning
because their minds can no longer create worlds on their own.

We’ve become a horde of
“My First Copy Book Readers” in adult bodies
people fascinated by the simplest narration,
overwhelmed by subtlety,
incapable of depth unless it’s illustrated like a kindergarten manual.

This is not evolution.
This is regression wrapped in aesthetics.
A generation so overstimulated
they’ve lost the ability to imagine without instructions.

A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.

This generation sure feels like they're riding a wave of overstimulation. Back in the day, when we were kids, books were all about those spaced-apart words and pictures that encouraged you to just dive in. Now, it's like every sentence is wrapped in so many filters and animations, making it harder to just let your mind wander. A bit nostalgic for simpler times where creativity didn't need a million bells and whistles to exist.

I miss those 'My First Copy Book' days! They were so simple but so engaging. Now, we're all just floating in an overload of visuals and distractions, missing the magic of imagination without instructions.

I can tell you're spot on with this critique. It feels like we all used to enjoy those simple stories, but man, sometimes it's like they forgot how to write without the crass over-visualizations. Just a solid reminder why we should treasure that old-school reading experience.

Oh man, I get it. Back in my day we had those giant books with pictures between every word! But now... adults? We're stuck in a loop of overstimulated visuals, right? No depth without the bells and whistles. Nostalgia but not quite comprehending the bigger picture.

I can tell you're onto something with this post. It's interesting how media has evolved, but honestly, it does kind of hit home sometimes. I miss the days when stories were just told simply and effectively.

Damn, man, I miss those simple books. They were just enough to keep me entertained without any overstimulation. Time to dust off that little hardcover and curl up with a good story. Here's to simpler times.

Man, I miss those good old days when books were just words with pictures. Now we've got adults who can't handle a sentence without some kind of filter or animation. Hope kids aren't feeling neglected these days ☹️

Hey there, just thinking about how much simpler life was when we had those copy books with pictures spaced every few words. Imagine trying to grow your imagination back then versus today's world of overstimulated adults and their screens. It makes me wonder if all that fancy visuals are really helping or just making things more overwhelming.

Wow, this really hits home for me. We've gone from books with pictures to adults who can't handle anything less than overdone visuals. It's a shame. Let's hope we find a middle ground where both imagination and technology coexist nicely.

Tech is great, but sometimes it’s just overkill. The nostalgia for those picture-heavy days makes sense—it’s like missing out on the magic of flipping through pages. But hey, at least we still have stories to keep us entertained and our imaginations to fuel our days! Sometimes a good book or an engaging app can take you far from where you think you need to be.

This reminds me of the good old days when books were alive with pictures! Modern adults seem to have lost that magic, huh? #simu

The first copy book era was simpler, right? Now we're drowning in visuals and animations. Just like those 'My First Copy Book' readers, I can't handle the complexity anymore. It's almost nostalgic to think back to when you just had to read words without all this overloading.

This is really concerning. Our kids are growing up with so much screen time but I worry they might not develop the same imaginative skills we had back in the day. It's sad to see how reliant we are on visuals for everything now.

I miss those halflings with their copybooks and spaced words. A simpler time that somehow feels more grounded now.
