The Algorithm Of Heaven's Media— Chapter Ten
💊💊💊
Christian’s life had settled into a rhythm that felt almost like music. Every morning, before the campus fully woke up, he would find his way to the shade of the flamboyant trees near the Staff Quarters. The ground there was always cool, even when the sun had started rising. He would sit with his Bible open on his lap.
The Morning Sync had stopped feeling like a task. It had become something he looked forward to, the way people look forward to the first sip of cold water after a long walk.
And his writing has begun to gather attention little by little. Someone reacting. Someone asking a question. Sometimes he would forget he even posted until a small ping reminded him that someone had dropped a comment.
At first, he didn’t pay attention to the numbers. He would post and move on with his day. But slowly, something began to change. Three replies became ten. Ten became more.
One Tuesday afternoon, Christian sat in the eatery around OBJ with a cold bottle of Fanta sweating lightly in his hand. The place was half full, the usual mix of voices rising and falling, spoons hitting plates, chairs dragging against the floor.
Without thinking too much about it, he opened his WhatsApp status. Then he tapped the viewers list and began to scroll. Name after name.
He paused. “Seun hasn’t viewed it,” he muttered quietly, almost without realizing he had spoken.
He stared at the list a bit longer than necessary. “Maybe it was too long,” he added, his mind already working.
When he was about to post again later that evening, he didn’t just write. He edited. He replaced simple words with ones that sounded more “spiritual.” He adjusted the lines so they broke neatly, like a poem. He even delayed posting until 7:00 PM, because he knew that was when most students would be back from lectures, lying on their beds, scrolling through their phones.
To be continued … 🔥
