A carved spoon takes about six hours. Give or take.

A carved spoon takes about six hours. Give or take. The first hour is choosing the wood. Cherry, walnut, olive — each one has its own personality. Cherry is forgiving. Walnut fights back. Olive does whatever it wants and you just follow. The last hour is sanding. Going from 120 grit to 400 grit until the handle feels like it has always existed and was simply waiting to be found. Nobody needs a hand-carved spoon. But nobody needs a sunset either and we still stop to watch. #Handmade #Woodwo...
