Governor Mai Mala Buni has continued to earn admiration for a political career shaped by patience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Hon. Salisu Muktari is describing his journey as a true reflection of purposeful leadership.
In his remarks, Hon. Salisu Muktari noted that Gov. Buni’s rise within the APC tells a story of steady growth and dedication, beginning from his role as national secretary, where he quietly contributed to strengthening party structures and fostering cooperation among members.
“Your Excellency, your journey has been calm but very impactful,” he said. “You have shown that leadership is not always about noise but about patience, understanding, and doing the right thing at the right time.”
He recalled Gov. Buni’s leadership as chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, describing it as a defining moment that highlighted his ability to guide the party through challenges with wisdom and composure.
“At a time when the party needed direction, you brought everyone together and ensured that peace and unity prevailed,” Hon. Salisu Muktari added.
He further emphasised Gov. Buni’s role in the reconciliation process and the successful conduct of the party’s national convention, noting that his inclusive style helped rebuild trust and strengthen the APC’s foundation.
According to Hon. Salisu Muktari, Gov. Buni’s yesterday support for the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s consensus presidential candidate demonstrated his belief in collective decision-making and shared progress.
“What makes your career special is your simplicity and sincerity,” he said. “You relate with people easily, you listen, and you lead with respect; these are the qualities that have earned you admiration across the country.”
He added that Gov. Buni’s journey continues to bring pride to Yobe State while inspiring many young leaders to see politics as a platform for service rather than personal gain.
Hon. Salisu Muktari concluded by expressing appreciation for the governor's contributions, noting that his career stands as a strong example of how consistency, humility, and unity can shape lasting leadership both within the party and across Nigeria.
