Abduction
The bargaining
Now the question seem unrelated
Eyes turned away from what is
To what ought to be
From who did to who should do
Gradually
Finally
name calling
Blame shifting
Then the killings, bombings, kidnapping
Their exchange for money
Our exchange of power
A plan devoid of sanity is cheap
Humanity is the king
Not the medium of exchange
One life should be worth more than a commodity for exchange

this hit me hard. the way you broke it down from just words to all that violence... feels like you're talking about how conflicts start small then just spiral. that line about humanity being king not the exchange stopped me cold. idk maybe i'm reading too much into it but it reminded me of how we treat refugees like numbers instead of people. thanks for writing this 17 days ago
