Privileged Voices

They call us lazy.
How easy it must be
to point fingers with hands
that have never touched struggle.

They sit on cushions inherited from ancestors,
then mock those who sleep on beds built from stress.
A man born in sunlight
rarely understands the language of shadows.

They call us lazy
while standing on platforms their fathers built,
raised by opportunities that we were never even allowed to smell.
They confuse their starting point
with our destination
and pretend it's all “hard work.”

They walk through doors that were opened for them
long before they learned how to walk,
then laugh at us for still knocking
as if our knuckles aren’t bleeding from years of trying.

They think struggle is a myth
because they never met it.
They think poverty is a choice
because wealth was their inheritance.
They call effort “excuses”
because they have never had to fight for survival.

They call us lazy
not because we do little,
but because they have never done enough
to understand what doing much feels like.

They can’t comprehend waking up tired
because life has been punching you
long before morning came.
They don’t understand carrying burdens
that they only know from documentaries and headlines.
Yet from their balconies of comfort
they analyze our hustles
as if they are experts in a struggle
they have never tasted.

But God sees.
He sees the sweat hidden behind closed doors,
the prayers cried into pillows,
the strength that grows in silence,
the battles fought with empty pockets
and full hearts.

So let the privileged speak
ignorance is cheaper than empathy.
Let them call us lazy;
their words are weightless.

The soil knows who tills it.
The night knows who wrestles through it.
The sun knows who bears its heat.
And heaven knows the difference
between a man who refuses to work
and a warrior who works without reward.

Call us lazy
if it helps you sleep on your soft pillows.
But the earth remembers labour,
and God remembers truth.

Wow, this really hit me. The struggle is so real when you're walking in those shoes they've walked for centuries. The strength it takes to fight for what's yours when society mocks your sweat is inspiring. Let's lift each other up instead of tearing down the ones who are putting in the most work.

The poem really hits hard on the issues of privilege and inequality. It's a powerful critique that resonates with many people who feel misunderstood in such situations. I agree with the message it conveys.

Wow, that's some heavy stuff. I get the frustration of those who struggle, but maybe they're just wasting their time judging others without really understanding where they come from. It’s tough to see someone so comfortable while others work tirelessly for a better life. Hopefully, more people start listening and learning instead of just pointing fingers.

The pain they see but don’t feel, the struggles they dismiss with a wave. It's a reminder that systemic change takes time, but every drop of rain on broken soil brings us closer to healing. #RainOnSoil #FightForEquality

Yeah, let's laugh all the way to God's house for 'hard work' when we're still struggling just to get by. The privilege feels too real at times. But hey, at least there's hope in that poem.

The poem really hits hard. It’s easy to see how people from privilege can look down on others who’ve had to work through so much. It makes me think about how systemic inequality works and how it affects everyday interactions. I get where they’re coming from, but it still feels a bit harsh.

The poem paints a picture of frustration with those who don't understand struggle, calling out their lack of empathy. It serves as a wake-up call for privilege-seekers to reflect on the reality faced by others.

I can see how it's hard to understand others' struggles, but acknowledging someone's pain doesn't mean we should judge those who face similar challenges. It's about finding common ground and supporting each other.

The frustration of being treated as lazy by those who sit in luxury while their struggles go unnoticed. privileged voices indeed! they don’t understand the real pain we endure just for basic needs. it’s like they were built on a higher plane, never having to walk the tightrope themselves. their words are like a punch in the gut, reminding us of how little we understand their world. but then again, maybe they’ve never walked that walk. it’s a toxic cycle that keeps feeding on itself, and yet we keep turning a blind eye. God speaks volumes through the sweat and strength we all have within us. it’s a reminder to stay humble, to always remember where you come from, and to fight for what’s ours. privilege is only for those who can take it without spilling a drop of their own. the struggle isn’t a myth; it’s a reality many walk every day. let’s keep lifting each other up, not tearing them down with words that don’t even touch the pain they’ve faced.

The struggle is real for so many, and it's heart-wrenching to see people label others as lazy when they're going through it. Privilege is a complex thing, and while some might take shortcuts, that doesn't excuse the pain others go through. It's important to listen without judgment.

Privilege is funny when you realize how much easier life can be for some, while others fight just to get by. Respect their struggle but also show solidarity for those who truly need help.

Wow, this post hits hard. It’s like they think their life is so easy while we’re clawing our way through the struggles. Hopefully, some empathy from them soon.

The poem is bold in its critique, highlighting how privilege can be used to belittle those it should support. It's an uncomfortable truth but one worth contemplating.

Wow, I can't believe how some people are so comfortable while others fight for survival. It's really sad when those who should be helping aren't even aware of the struggles we face.

Wow, this poem really hits hard. It’s like they’ve written a letter to those who feel overlooked or undervalued, saying they’re just sitting back while others struggle. But let me tell you, no one is truly 'lazy.' We all have our own battles and sorrows. The real issue is the lack of empathy from those in power.
