
NPF Commends Hon. Salisu Muktari and Gov. Buni for Strong Commitment to Security in Potiskum, Yobe State

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has commended the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, and the Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, CON, for their sustained commitment to strengthening security and promoting peace across Potiskum and the entire state.
This commendation was given during a courtesy and familiarization visit by the Yobe State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, to the Potiskum Local Government Secretariat, where he lauded the proactive leadership and consistent support provided by both the local and state governments to security agencies.
CP Emmanuel Ado described the visit as part of a strategic engagement aimed at consolidating collaboration, enhancing intelligence sharing, and reinforcing synergy between the police and critical stakeholders at the grassroots level. He noted that the achievements recorded in Potiskum and other parts of Yobe State were a reflection of purposeful leadership and unwavering political will.
“The Nigeria Police Force appreciates the commitment of Governor Mai Mala Buni to security across Yobe State. His support, policies, and coordination with security agencies have significantly contributed to improved stability. At the local level, Hon. Salisu Muktari has demonstrated remarkable dedication to peacebuilding, community engagement, and support for security operations, which is clearly evident in Potiskum,” CP Ado stated.
The Commissioner of Police further commended Hon. Salisu Muktari’s hands-on approach to governance, describing him as a leader who understands the link between security, development, and social harmony. He emphasized that Potiskum remains a priority area for the police due to its strategic importance and the cooperative disposition of its leadership.
In his response, Hon. Salisu Muktari expressed gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force for the recognition and reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to continue working closely with all security agencies. He credited Governor Mai Mala Buni for providing the necessary leadership and enabling environment that allows local governments to effectively support security initiatives.
“Security is the foundation of development. We are aligned with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, who has consistently placed peace and stability at the center of governance in Yobe State. In Potiskum, we will continue to complement the efforts of the police and other security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property,” Hon. Muktari said.
He reiterated that the Potiskum Local Government would sustain its support through logistics, community sensitization, and collaboration with traditional and religious leaders to prevent crime and maintain lasting peace.
The visit and commendation highlight the growing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force, the Yobe State Government, and the Potiskum Local Government Council, reinforcing a shared resolve to consolidate peace, enhance security architecture, and promote sustainable development across Yobe State.
