“Isaiah 9:6
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”.
…
THE PROPHECY OF THE NATIVITY
A question sang for years,
MARY, DID YOU KNOW?
That the Child you carry will one day deliver you, deliver the whole world,
That there will be no end to His Word,
In heaven and on earth.
Mary,
Born to Joachim and Anne, her mother and father in the little town of Nazareth,
Joseph, the son of Jacob from the house of David.
Two individuals, no money, no home, a child on the way, one God, on a quest for hope.
“What good can come from Nazareth?”
Truly. For in the Era of Herod,
Pain and despair hung like pictures on their faces,
(A little picture that hangs in the hearts of people today, in this day and age.
A gloom of hollow,
Wondering, what's so Merry about Christmas?)
…
The Peace they climbed to was nothing but the Prince of Peace,
Waiting upon the star foretold,
The light in the darkness,
The hope Isaiah professed to come.
Immanuel, “God with Us”.
Upon the Star of Jacob, from the House of David,
Unto you, a child was born.
More than 2000 years ago,
The doorway of redemption and salvation blinked in excitement,
On a solemn night in Bethlehem.
(Families…
Some are hungry…
Some are afraid…
Some lie awake… waiting for the crucifixion of the economy,
For the hope to wipe their tears,
Pain blinds man…
Forgetting hope has been here for more than 2000 years…).
MARY'S POV
Luke 1:30 NLT
“Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favour with God!”
…
‘Favour with God?’ ‘What did I do to deserve this?’
Mary probably wondered too.
Born to Joachim and Anne,
Bethrothed to Joseph,
Raised in the little town of Nazareth,
A lowly maiden filled with humility,
‘For blessed was she amongst Women’
She lay in the fields and tended to her parents,
For who would have known that God would exalt the lowly in such a magnificent sight?
For a Prophecy was over her,
No one knew she had found this favour in the sight of God,
To this day people sing; ‘Mary did you know?’ Well, maybe she didn't.
However, God showed up and proved himself. (Isaiah 43:1-2).
Angel Gabriel brought the Good News,
A King was to be born from her womb.
Not just any king, A king for the lowest of lows and the greatest of Kings,
‘But how can this be? I am a virgin’.
The ways of God can never be limited to human vision.
For it is beyond the scope of human comprehension,
Even the “holiest” Pharisees struggled to understand,
That is why we have the Holy Spirit,
For this the Holy Spirit took charge.
And all Mary said; (Luke 1:38)
“I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.”
Humility and beauty. To trust only in God.
He took notice of this lowly servant girl, and now all nations will call her blessed.
JOSEPH’S POV
“Matthew 1:20
“Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit”.
…
Joseph, son of Jacob from the house of David,
Handcuffed by the Jewish tradition,
Feared, Mary had conceived.
But how? They knew each other not,
For his kindness, he decided to quietly let her go.
But who can let go of the destiny foretold?
In a dream, he attained his answers,
For unto his house, the Messiah shall be born,
To this child was peace to come,
The government will be on his shoulders,
To the people, life
To this child, he shall be called “JESUS”
A man of lowly,
Now, Joseph did you know? Surely not. But in God, he built his house, never to be shaken again.
…
‘We love because he loved us first”.
The reason for this season, is not for the food, clothes and accessories,
These things collect dust and will one day be handcuffed with tears,
So great it can't cope with more wares,
Rather, the reason… for the season,
It is important to remember that though our sins were more horrific than treason,
For we were torn between truth and reason.
Jesus, came to die,
To bring with him eternal life,
For that, he was torn and battered up,
To a point that could not be covered by make-up,
On that rugged cross, the blood did flow,
Restoring wholeness once again.
Clean your tears, dry your eyes,
For unto you a King is upon you,
He is called Emmanuel,
For he shall always be with us.
Shalom!
“Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
THIS…IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.
