The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has taken effective steps to improve the performance of security personnel and provide them with peace of mind in carrying out their duties.
The chairman has taken systematic steps that show the improvement of the performance of security personnel in the local government, following his oath to ensure effective security for the good people of the local government and their properties. He is committed to fulfilling this promise.
The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Council has taken the decision to isolate and provide the military camp of the local government with a land or space of their own that will give them full control and a good system of managing their work.
He has taken them from their initial place (Rest House) to permanent ones and provided them with fencing, adequate water, electricity with solar-powered boreholes, and solar streetlights.
He has provided them with a group on a proprietary basis to make their camp permanent to continue to provide the good people of the Local Government Council with full protection and care in peace and a good system of management.
To improve the environment and prevent desertification and soil erosion, the chairman has empowered the forest officers who are responsible for monitoring the felling of trees to avoid the impact of global warming, air pollution, and deforestation in Potiskum Local Government Council.
The chairman has revived their work by providing them with a spacious office that can be a division in the old secretariat that has been abandoned for a long time.
He also Relocate the NSCDC zonal area command to the Jigawa area of Potiskum Local Government Area to strengthen their operations and provide them with their own division to strengthen their operations and allow them to be independent without having to rely on any agency or body to carry out their duties.
The chairman did not stop at these but provided a direct channel of communication to all the security officers in the local government area to ensure that the people live in a safe and secure environment.
