In a strong affirmation of his commitment to purposeful governance, Governor Mai Mala Buni has brought key campaign promises to life with the delivery of a modern market and the development of a massive, Africa-standard trailer park in Potiskum Local Government Area.
The projects mark a significant turning point for Potiskum, reinforcing its status as a leading commercial and transportation hub in Northeast Nigeria. They also reflect a leadership style anchored on performance, accountability, and strategic development.
The newly delivered modern market is set to transform the face of commerce in the area, offering a well-organized, secure, and investor-friendly environment. As a major trading center, Potiskum is now better positioned to attract increased business activities from across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond—driving revenue growth and expanding economic opportunities.
Equally impactful is the construction of the large-scale trailer park, a project designed to match Potiskum’s long-established reputation as a powerhouse in trailer ownership and transport operations. The facility is expected to enhance logistics, improve coordination within the transport sector, and create thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
Reiterating the vision behind the initiative, Governor Mai Mala Buni stated:
“Potiskum is not just a local government; it is a strategic economic hub. Its strength in trade and trailer activities is well recognized across Nigeria; this is why we are committed to delivering infrastructure that matches its importance and drives further economic growth.”
The governor had earlier outlined plans for the project, acknowledging the critical role Potiskum plays in both national and regional transportation networks.
This intervention is widely regarded as a major milestone in the administration’s broader agenda to stimulate local economies, create employment opportunities, and reposition Yobe State for greater economic relevance.
With these developments, Gov. Buni has once again demonstrated that effective leadership is measured not by promises made, but by promises fulfilled—setting a strong pace for sustainable growth and development in Yobe State.
