The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the promotion of 1,700 teachers and education personnel under the Yobe State Teaching Service Board (TSB), in a significant move aimed at rewarding dedication and strengthening the state’s education sector.

The announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of the Board, Yakubu Yasidi Dokshi, during a management meeting where he described the promotion exercise as a strategic effort to recognize the hard work, professionalism, and commitment of teachers serving across the state.

Dokshi noted that the gesture reflects the state government’s determination to motivate educators and improve the overall standard of teaching and learning in schools.

“We proudly convey these promotions to recognize the dedication, diligence, and excellence demonstrated by our teachers in shaping the future of our children,” he stated.

He further explained that the promotion is part of broader reforms by the administration of Governor Buni aimed at strengthening the education system, enhancing teachers’ welfare, and encouraging greater commitment to service.

According to him, improving the welfare and career progression of teachers remains a key pillar in achieving better academic outcomes and raising educational standards across Yobe State.

Dokshi also expressed deep appreciation to Governor Buni for his consistent support of the education sector, noting that the approval of the promotions once again demonstrates the governor’s resolve to build a resilient and sustainable education system in the state.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Board, Mohammed ibn Musa, commended the governor for prioritizing education and creating an enabling environment for teachers to thrive professionally.

Similarly, the Deputy Permanent Member of the Board, Umar Baba Haruna, congratulated the beneficiaries and encouraged them to remain committed, disciplined, and punctual in the discharge of their duties.

The promotion of the 1,700 teachers is expected to boost morale among education personnel, inspire renewed dedication in classrooms, and further strengthen the government’s commitment to delivering quality education across Yobe State.
