My heart grew tired of carrying storms,
Of smiling through unspoken pain,
Of waking each day to heavy thoughts
And laying my head down with the rain.
It beat for dreams that took too long,
For prayers that echoed in silent skies,
For love that promised warmth and light
But left with unanswered goodbyes.
Sometimes my strength would slip away,
Like breath that trembles in the cold,
And hope would feel so far from reach,
A distant story never told.
Yet in the quiet of breaking nights,
When tears become my only art,
A whisper rises, soft but sure:
“Rest here, my child, fainting heart.”
For even a heart that almost faints
Still knows the rhythm of rising again,
Still remembers the pulse of hope
Beating beneath the weight of pain.
So I gather the pieces of fragile faith,
And teach my breath to start anew—
A fainting heart is not a lost one,
It’s a heart learning how to be true.
