BREAKING: CHRIST-AFRICA Slams Supreme Court Over Death Sentence of Christian Farmer — Accuses Judiciary of Religious Bias, Calls on Tinubu and NJC to Intervene

By Comrade Dave Jonathan Boldmind, Executive Director, CHRIST-AFRICA

The Christian Rights for Social Justice & Transparency in Africa (CHRIST-AFRICA) has issued a scathing rebuke of the Supreme Court of Nigeria following its decision to uphold the death sentence of Sunday Jackson, a Christian farmer from Adamawa State. Jackson was convicted for defending himself from a suspected Fulani herdsman in what CHRIST-AFRICA describes as a gross miscarriage of justice dripping with religious and ethnic bias.

CHRIST-AFRICA did not mince words, calling the ruling a judicial betrayal of Christian citizens who are under siege in Northern Nigeria. The organization condemned what it sees as a growing pattern of state-enabled persecution, where Christian victims are punished while violent extremists walk free.

“This is not justice, this is the system executing a Christian man for refusing to be a victim,” said Comrade Dave Jonathan Boldmind. “When Christian communities are attacked, when pastors are butchered, when entire villages are wiped out, there is silence. But let a Christian defend his life and he is sentenced to die. This cannot stand.”

CHRIST-AFRICA is now calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Judicial Council (NJC) to immediately review the ruling and summon the justices responsible for this biased judgment. The organization insists that no democracy can thrive under a judiciary tainted by selective rulings and religious prejudice.

“We are putting the Nigerian state on notice, the Christian population will no longer sit quietly while a two-tier justice system sends us to the gallows,” Boldmind declared. “We demand a full review of this case. We demand fairness. And we demand that the judges who handed down this sentence be held accountable for this travesty.”

CHRIST-AFRICA has also called on international human rights bodies, the African Union, and global Christian organizations to closely monitor the situation and pressure the Nigerian government to uphold equality before the law.

The organization reaffirmed its mission to defend the oppressed, expose religious persecution, and confront institutional injustice wherever it exists in Africa.

“The cry of Sunday Jackson is the cry of millions,” Boldmind said. “And CHRIST-AFRICA will not relent until this verdict is reversed and justice is truly served.”

I get that this must be super frustrating... but let’s see if there’s another angle here. Maybe the court could look into how the farming community is treated elsewhere.
