The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, through the MCRP—Multi-sectorial Crises Recovery Project—handed over newly reconstructed and upgraded PHC in the Kukareta Damaturu local government area.

This is in line with the intention of Governor Buni to improve the quality of life of the community by providing an active primary health care facility in each of the 178 wards of Yobe State under the 17 local government areas of the state.

The primary health care facility now has a modern Outpatient Department (OPD), manager's office, modern consulting rooms, HIV and TB unit, Family Planning Unit, labor unit, pharmacy/dispensary, antenatal care (ANC) room, and injection room.

Also, the PHC has a modern and well-equipped laboratory, a nurse's office, a nurse's changing room, male and female wards, solar power, and a solar-powered borehole.

The PHC is also equipped with comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical equipment and a supply of drugs.

Those present at the handing over included Damaturu local government Dir. Primary Healthcare Board Hajiya Hauwa Ahmed, district head of Kukareta Alh. Lawan Babagana, and MCRP representatives on behalf of the Yobe state government.

All parties commended Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, and MCRP for upgrading and modernizing the PHC to international standards, expressing their happiness for having this project in their ward, which will help in providing them with quality healthcare.

Alh. Musa Jidawa, state project coordinator, led the PCU team in the handover of the PHC to the good people of Kukareta, calling on the people of the area to contribute to the improvement of health services at this PHC.

The good people of Yobe State are benefiting from development projects in the health, education, agriculture, and business development sectors under the administration of H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN.
