I thought we were one,
that what we shared was real,
That maybe, just maybe,
I had found the one who would love and respect me always.
But little did I know,
you were my undoing.

You broke me so deeply
that my pieces turned jagged.
I watched you fall out of love,
helpless as the distance grew.
I gave you the world,
made you my world,
and somehow, we still crumbled,
from lovers to strangers,
splitting into fragments of what we once were.

No matter how it ends,
I always seem to be the broken one.
You had nothing to lose,
but I lost everything.
I hate how I kept trying
to tie the strings back together,
how I made excuses for your silence.
Now my heart lies torn,
beyond repair.

Did I ever mean anything to you?
Was I just another chapter in your game?
Did you ever love me,
or was I always alone in this?
Were your words ever true,
or just echoes meant to keep me still?

You let go so easily,
as if what we had was nothing.
I tried everything,
but love alone was never enough.
Still, I hope,
I truly hope,
that someday, you find the peace
you couldn’t find with me.
