A noise of pleasant distraction,
calling from a mile away.

A new step forms in my head,
to match the rhythm of the tune.

Just like a journey of a thousand miles
begins with a step,
so my journey begins
with the clap of my foot to a dance.

Around me, everyone drifts away
to the mix of hip-hop beats
and streaks of rock jams.
Seems like I’m left behind—
until I realize,
ecstasy doesn’t wear the same face for all.

Curiosity hits me—
what’s the secret of their joy?
Then I see them:
small, colorful molecules
lighting their eyes.

I can’t stay low while everyone’s high,
so I join the vibe,
diving deep into a world of fantasy.

Rules don’t exist there.
My pain flies away
as if it never lived within me.

I keep the vibe going—
but after I pay the price for the molecules,
I pay another I never bargained for.

Lost in the land of fantasy,
no compass,
no map
to lead me home.

The world pities me—
but I can’t see.
The mirrors refuse to show
who I truly am.

Only when the high fades
and the price is paid,
do I see the torn crown on my head,
and remember—
I was a king.

But how do I find
my golden crown again,
now that everyone’s gone?
