Pedestrian love

With the first sight of her, just a slight
My heart skips a beat
my mind loses all the railings over my heart.

A beat, a second beat, a thunderous beating,
crush against my ribs, so much overdo.
I reach my hands to calm my heart.
I couldn't stop looking,

Those soft lips.
Invisible hands clutching me, restraining me,
to fight the urge to go over and seize her lips.
Those eyes, like ocean waves drowning me in,
for I am helpless against her current.

Her smile,
so beautiful it could rival the sun.
It shines so bewitchingly, like an enchantment,
I almost fall to the ground, my eyes melting under her gaze.

Too swift,
her stare was too swift for my liking.
Just another passing stranger,
I was the one you'll never think twice about.

I freeze; watching her shadow as she roams the street with her friends,
the same smile and the moon-glistening eyes.

I stand still,
a glance, it took, only a glance for me to fall into pedestrian love.
When hope was all lost for me to become a stranger in the sea of people,

she glances back,
her eyes trailing over for a bit before she turns her head back.
