It was rough and quiet. Those ones that comes when someone finally admits the truth to himself.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, staring at the red dust on his feet. “I’m really sorry. I’ve been treating You like a joke. Like something I can open only when my own data finishes.”
His voice faded, but he stayed there.
Minutes passed.
He didn’t ask for money for his mother. He didn’t beg for the exam to be moved. He didn’t make any requests at all. He simply stayed.
Showing up.
Talking slowly. Waiting.
The campus noise moved around him like a distant river. After a while, something flickered at the edge of his awareness. A faint bar of light appeared.
Just one.
A soft notification followed.
Signal Restored.
Low Bandwidth.
Keep talking.
Christian breathed out slowly and continued, words spilling from a place deeper than panic.
At that exact moment his physical phone vibrated again in his hand. He opened the message. It was from his sister.
Brother, don’t worry anymore! A woman from church just came to the hospital. She said God told her this morning to come and pay somebody’s bill. She picked Mama. Everything has been covered!
