The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has provided a spacious and efficient office complex for NSCDC officers in Jigawa area of Potiskum LGA.
This follows the revocation of the office certificate issued to them, which resulted in the absence of an operational office for the area command of the said agency.
The absence of the office has also led to a setback in security activities across the local government area, which Hon. Salisu Muktari has taken to fulfill his commitment to ensure effective security for the lives and properties of the community by providing them with a proper unit in the Mamman B Ali Housing Estate in the Jigawa area of Potiskum LGA.
Speaking to one of the NSCDC officers, he confirmed that:
"Several years ago, we had the problem of revoking the certificate of ownership of our office in this area, which stopped all our efforts to provide security and brought us to a standstill after we started working in collaboration with other security agencies.
"We were very frustrated, which is why we submitted our complaint to the Honorable Chairman of Potiskum Local Government, Hon. Salisu Muktari, to look into the situation and return our office to us so that we can continue to ensure the security of the people and their properties in this local government.
"Within a short time, the unit and its ownership were upgraded to ensure the security of the people after the chairman stood firm on any issue that could lead to the development and security of the people of Potiskum Local Government.
"We greatly appreciate the understanding and good support we are receiving through the help and expertise of Hon. Salisu Muktari, who is standing firm to the good people of Potiskum." Said the NSCDC officer.
The establishment of the unit office strengthens the work of the NSCDC Area Command in the local government area.
The efforts of Hon. Salisu Muktari have restored the prestige of security not only to the people of the Jigawa area but also to the entire people of Potiskum Local Government Area.
