Potiskum Local Government Area is experiencing steady and visible development, as major projects continue to improve infrastructure and economic activities under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Salisu Muktari.

Across communities, residents are seeing real changes better roads, stronger business activities, and increasing opportunities, through active engagement with the Federal Government and the Yobe State Government, Hon. Salisu Muktari has successfully attracted projects that are directly impacting the lives of the people.

His close collaboration with Governor Mai Mala Buni has further strengthened the delivery of these interventions, ensuring that development efforts translate into practical results at the grassroots.

Among the key projects is the construction of a modern Trailer Park, reinforcing Potiskum’s role as a transport and logistics hub, the development of a modern market is also boosting trade and strengthening its position as a major commercial centre in Yobe State.

Infrastructure development is also gaining momentum, through partnership with the North East Development Commission (NEDC), a strategic road behind CAMTECH Potiskum has been completed, connecting several communities to the Gashua–Potiskum highway.

In addition, over 3.5 kilometers of roads and two bridges are under construction, linking Kara through Gawo to Mazaga and Tandari to Lailai, improving access and movement.

On the economic front, the administration has attracted a sesame processing company expected to support farmers, create jobs, and boost local production, this is complemented by a vocational training centre executed by the Yobe State Government, aimed at equipping youths with practical skills and promoting self-reliance.

The impact is clear and encouraging, with ongoing projects improving daily life and strengthening economic activities across the Local Government.

These efforts align with Gov. Buni’s broader development agenda to rebuild and modernize Yobe State, with Potiskum emerging as a key beneficiary.
