Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN has once again reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and rural transformation with the official launch of a landmark electrification project in Anze community, Fika Local Government Area.
For generations, the people of Anze lived without electricity—a challenge that stifled local enterprise, hindered education, and limited social development. That reality is now changing as Governor Buni directs the Yobe State Rural Electrification Board (REB) to commence full-scale installation of power lines, transformers, and related infrastructure to deliver reliable electricity to the area.
The project, a key component of the Buni Rural Renewal Agenda, seeks to stimulate economic growth, create new job opportunities, and improve the quality of life for residents in rural Yobe. By connecting underserved communities to the national grid, the initiative is also expected to reduce rural-urban migration and unlock new opportunities in trade, education, and technology.
According to REB officials, the project will adhere strictly to international safety and quality standards to ensure lasting results. The agency confirmed that the neighboring communities of Bulakos and Garin Chindo in Janga and Ngalda wards have been earmarked for the next phase of the electrification program.
The atmosphere in Anze is one of gratitude and celebration. Community elders described the project as “a historic gift and a long-awaited dream fulfilled.”
With this development, Governor Buni continues to light up the path of progress across Yobe State—transforming rural communities through practical, people-centered initiatives that deliver lasting impact and inspire hope for a brighter tomorrow.
