The executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, has expanded the YSCHMA activities with the creation of a new informal sector scheme to provide non-government employees with full access to the scheme across Yobe State.
The Yobe State Contributory Health Management Agency (YSCHMA) was previously an agency that provided healthcare to government employees by paying 20% of the annual patient cost.
The governor also expanded the YSCHMA agency to allow non-government employees or officials to benefit directly from the scheme in order to provide a quality and affordable healthcare system for the poor and vulnerable among the good people of Yobe State.
The Head of the YSCHMA Marketing Team, Comrade Lawan Ahmadu, said;
"The Yobe State Governor has directed us to enroll the poor and vulnerable people of Yobe State into the YSCHMA scheme to improve their lives and provide them with easy access to healthcare, and he has undertaken to register thousands of poor/vulnerable people for free across 178 wards of Yobe State.
"Following the directives of the esteemed governor, we are now touring the 17 local government areas of Yobe State to sensitize them on the newly informal scheme, which will provide low-cost and almost free healthcare to vulnerable and poor patients across Yobe State." He said.
The executive governor approved the scheme to provide the most accessible healthcare for the poor and vulnerables across the state.
