The Executive Governor of Yobe State and his counterparts from Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, Adamawa, and Maiduguri states lamented the high cost of agricultural products during the current farming season and called for the provision of equipment to support irrigated farming.
The governors lamented the high cost of agricultural products while the Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN, was addressing the forum at the end of its 12th forum held in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.
The forum also reviewed the achievements made in the fight against insurgents and terrorist groups in the region, expressing satisfaction with the progress being made in ensuring security in the North-East region and called for an end to terrorist attacks in the region.
The meeting also looked into the energy and flood issues and resolved to address the energy crisis by developing a comprehensive energy plan and reviewing flood protection measures for areas prone to flooding and relocating flood victims.
The meeting also agreed to revive the Northeast Trade Fair with a budget for December 2025.
The meeting also expressed concern over the effects of climate change and called on the authorities, such as the North East Development Commission, to rebuild roads and bridges damaged by the floods.
Finally, it was agreed to hold its meeting again between December 12 and 14 in Maiduguri.
