She wore the mask like her adornments.
Her ornaments that she feels incomplete without.
Oh what a monster she was made to be, a monster she feared to be.
But deep beneath the light still flickers,
Never fading away completely.
Her pain turned her this way.

She prayed and hoped for his return.
He broke her into pieces,
But she never hated him.
She prayed for his well being,
Because her happiness lies in him.
But he couldn't see past her skin,
He couldn't glare into her soul,
He made her this way.

Even though she clothed herself with her facade.
That he never saw past it,
She still waited.
Deep down, she still wanted him back, but he's long gone.
The bridge has broken, and can't be fixed by her alone.
She had that spark of hope, that someday she will get to have him.
"But why stay loyal when he is already long lost?" They asked.
It's true love, and when it's true love, the hope always lingers for your beloveth return.

Hey, sounds like you went through something rough. Wearing a mask feels so isolating sometimes. Take care of yourself and give yourself that love you need too.

The poem really captures the pain of losing someone you thought was everything. But I can tell you’ve held onto a piece of them for good, and that keeps you going. It’s beautiful how hope stays even when it feels like there’s no way back.

She sounds so hurt, but I get how much she loved him too. Losing someone you can’t find again is so raw.
