Faithful woman with scars of bitterness
Shrouding her pain with a colorful mask of happiness
Her inside is rented by anguish
The face she puts out looks lavish,
Despite all is not well with her matrimonial home
The silent noise of beating, she learns to condone
Her husband a drunk irresponsible man
He traumatizes her with insult and beating
How did she end up marrying a callous brute
Who treats her like a punching bag knocking her tooth
Every day her life seems like a hell
Yet she finds a way to get by well
Wearing the masks of happiness
The mask of cheerfulness covering depression
The mask of joy covering affliction
The mask of smile covering frustration
Her heart is heavy
Her soul is weary
Her words are double
Inside there is a pain that bubble
Outside it seems she has no trouble.
Night after night she cried
She has done more than tried
To make him happy, bear him a son
It wasn't her fault that it was a stillborn
Her in-laws hated her more after she lost the child
The gentle kind man she married became wild
They label her a sordid bimbo
witch
Saying she's good for nothing but a leech
During their courtship with her husband Larry
She never took time to know him cause they married in a hurry
They met on a bus in the month of September
Then exchange vows at the altar in November
Reality is biting her, she's daze with remorse
Her blessings wear a garment of curse
But everyday she has to put on the mask of happiness
Letting everyone see it's all well.
