The tractors distributed by the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, to agricultural institutions in Yobe State are playing a vital role in facilitating and expanding agriculture across Yobe State.
The governor provided the tractors to facilitate and develop agriculture in his government's efforts to combat food shortages and provide the people of the state with sufficient food, which will help in stabilizing prices and making it affordable for the entire population of the state.
The governor's policies on agriculture have started to have an impact, as the 100 tractors he provided have started to show their impact on agriculture by reducing the cost of inputs and improving it at a lower cost for farmers in Yobe State.
Mohammed Zakar Jaji, a farmer and resident of Damaturu, said, "The provision of these tractors has been very beneficial and has come at the right time, with over 35 people getting pierced every day across the three zones of Yobe State at a low price of N180,000 per day.
"This means that at least over 100 people are getting pierced per day across Yobe State, which has brought about a real change in our farming business." He said
The farmer also showed the impact the tractors had and how they ease their farming activities even in the early stages of farming and confirmed that they benefited from the fertilizer subsidy from the governor last year, which encouraged them to improve their farming activities.
The provision of the tractors has not only benefited the farmers but also has had a huge impact on the economy of Yobe State as a whole.
