Yobe State has emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair, proudly taking home two major honors— “Overall Best Performing State” and “Overall Biggest State Entourage”—in recognition of its outstanding participation and impressive showcase of opportunities.
The prestigious awards were presented by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) to celebrate Yobe’s exemplary organization, creativity, and impactful presentation throughout the event, held from September 26 to October 6, 2025, at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre.
Representing Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, the Yobe delegation, led by the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, Alhaji Kaigama Umaru, delivered a strong statement of the state’s growing capacity, innovation, and readiness for investment.
Yobe’s pavilion captivated both local and international visitors with its beautiful display of agricultural products, solid minerals, tourism attractions, and industrial potentials—earning widespread commendation for excellence and organization.
According to ACCI officials, the “Best Performing State” award recognizes Yobe’s exceptional contribution to trade promotion and economic diversification, while the “Biggest State Entourage” award highlights the unity and strong participation of its delegation across all segments of the fair.
“This recognition is a reflection of Governor Buni’s visionary leadership and his administration’s firm commitment to economic growth, innovation, and empowerment,” said Commissioner Kaigama Umaru while receiving the awards on behalf of the state government.
He added that the achievement would further inspire Yobe to strengthen its partnerships, support local entrepreneurs, and create more opportunities for business development across the state.
The 20th Abuja International Trade Fair, themed “Sustainable Finance and Taxation as Drivers for the New Economy,” featured participation from both public and private sectors, showcasing Nigeria’s evolving business landscape.
Yobe State’s performance at the fair has not only earned it national applause but also reaffirmed Governor Buni’s commitment to repositioning Yobe as a hub of commerce, investment, and innovation in Northern Nigeria.
Truly, Yobe’s success story at the trade fair reflects a government driven by vision, purpose, and people-centered development.
