Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State have passed a resounding vote of confidence on Governor Mai Mala Buni, endorsing his leadership and reaffirming their collective commitment to unity and continuity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement formed a central outcome of a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Damaturu, where party leaders, political actors, and key influencers converged to review the party’s direction and strengthen internal cohesion.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, stakeholders commended Gov. Buni for his inclusive leadership style, noting that his administration has continued to unify the party while delivering tangible democratic dividends to the people of Yobe State.
They emphasized that the governor’s approach to governance has not only stabilized the party structure but also reinforced public confidence in the APC across the state.
“The ground is fertile, the structure is intact, and the resolve is unshaken,” stakeholders declared, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the 2027 electoral cycle.
The meeting also reaffirmed the party’s broader political strategy, including its endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and an ambitious plan to deliver 3.5 million votes in the 2027 presidential election.
As part of efforts to sustain unity, the stakeholders further resolved to adopt a consensus approach in selecting candidates for the governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections. The move, they said, would eliminate internal divisions and ensure total support for candidates that emerge through the process.
Party leaders described the vote of confidence on Gov. Buni as a reflection of widespread satisfaction with his performance and a signal of trust in his ability to continue guiding the party toward electoral success.
The outcomes of the meeting underscore the Yobe APC’s resolve to maintain stability, strengthen its structures, and approach the 2027 elections with a united front.
