The Saharan King

The enslaved King of the Sahara
Bound by gold shackles and shambling along on the oily sand
The father gave their children and the children gave their fathers
The vanity of their travail like a woman in labor for a dead child

The agonized man's agony reaches an agonizing crescendo
The staccato rhythm of the dirges and lamentations
The death of our image, our face, our grace
The father's sins reflect on the son, and the son's righteousness on the father

Yet from the ashes of despair, a dawn begins to break
In the heart of Africa, where resilience intertwines with hope
The King’s chains shall be shattered by the will of the free
And the legacy of suffering transforms into a vision of unity and strength

The King of the Sahara, the magnificent
Shall rise once more, not enslaved by his lineage,
But empowered by the spirit of a continent unbowed
To forge a future where freedom and grace are restored to all.

A nice work which I believe is an attempt to address the issues in a society that is enslaved with self inflicted suffering which is from the misdeeds from the past. The poem started with a tone of despair and ends with a tone of hope.
