“And those things you post in the department WhatsApp group,” she added. “Those short write-ups. People are reading them, you know.”
Christian looked up, surprised.
“They don’t feel like sermons,” she continued. “You just explain things simply. Like you’re talking to someone, not correcting them. People actually check the comments. Your posts have engagement.”
Christian shook his head slowly.
“Me? I’m not doing anything serious. I’m just… writing small things.”
“That’s exactly it,” she said. “You’re not trying too hard.”
She paused, studying him for a moment longer.
“You have a voice, Christian. You might not see it yet, but people are already responding to it. Your content is reaching people.”
Christian looked down at the dusty ground, using his foot to draw a small line unconsciously.
“I’m not looking for followers,” he said quietly. “I’m just trying to stay connected. That’s all.”
Funke’s expression softened.
“Maybe that’s why your metrics are clean,” she said.
She smiled, a small, knowing smile, then adjusted her bag.
“Think about it,” she added lightly, already turning away. “Not everything that grows needs to be forced.”
Christian stood there for a moment, watching her walk toward the library, her figure blending into the movement of other students.
He didn’t say anything. But somewhere inside him, thoughts were bubbling
