TALES BY MOONLIGHT

The hare and the tortoise; legends of our childhood
We basked under the radiating beauty of the silver moon
Like little chatter boxes, our voices overlapped each other's

"Children"
Grandpa's voice oozed like a charm, quickly bewitching its victim
It spread giggles as it tickled our very ears
Grandpa sounded like a yukele, every string rightly plucked
The resonating music, a recipe for pure joy

"The hare was sly but the tortoise was crafty"
All fell silent, our eyes grew ten times larger
His voice was pure magic that held us in a trance
The peace that flowed with it could still a wrecking storm

Doose, the title of your poem was apt. Tales by moonlight truly found a place in our childhood. I wish I could read your inspiration. Probably you grew with your Grand Pa

Thank you so much Emeka I didn't have the privilege to meet my Grandpa but my Father's older brother more than sufficed in that regard. He told us tales and riddles, all of which I love and cherish to this day
