Still Pt.2: To my Twenties

Dear Twenties,
I thought we would be famous,
Married to that knight in shining armour.
It seemed like we were moulded just for the glamour, unknown to us that what once shone could rust too.
How beautiful is the mind of a Kid?
Growing without a care in the world.
Reality struck like a knife.
Hard to fathom, slow to digest.
Chin up.
Don't lose hope, don't lose God.
We've seen that side and everywhere was really dark. Deprived of life, a hopeless oasis.
Breathe.
Don't forget to breathe. Stress may be like a noose around your neck but don't forget to breathe.
When responsibility comes flooding in and banging like an unavoidable Tsunami.
Shield your mind and don't forget to breathe.
You look back at the race,
It seems like you are lacking in pace,
Like you can't catch up.
Who told you your race was measured by the pace of others?
Was the Golden Cup one final destination?
The mirage of the world has darkened your peace.
Take out the noise! Fill it with the word.
People will come and go,
People are like seasons, changing like the leaves in Autumn.
Different shades of colour.
Just like Jonathan to David,
The right light will shine no matter the season.
Let God lead.
A lighter note.
Let God fight for you,
Hold your peace.
At the appointed time, all pieces will fall into place,
The glass slipper could only fit Cinderella,
So also the place Abba marked out for you, you will occupy.
So to my twenties,
If I didn't say it before,
Don't lose God.
For what is a Tree without its source?
A hopeless oak deprived of life.
