Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, has once again drawn a firm moral line around his leadership, declaring that neither political pressure nor personal ambition will ever push him into betraying the trust placed in him by his predecessor, Ibrahim Geidam, or the mandate given to him by the people of Yobe State.
In a statement marked by deep reflection on public service, Gov. Buni described trust as a sacred obligation that defines true leadership and emphasized that while political power is temporary, integrity endures for life. For him, the ultimate measure of success is not titles or influence, but a clean public record that history can judge with fairness.
The governor stressed that the confidence reposed in him by Ibrahim Geidam remains a guiding force in his political conduct, noting that such trust must be protected with honesty and consistency, adding that betrayal—whether of a mentor or of the electorate—has no place in responsible governance.
Equally important, Gov. Buni reaffirmed that his highest loyalty lies with the people of Yobe State, described their trust as a lifelong responsibility, and vowed that his actions in office would always reflect their collective interest, not personal gain.
“I do not want my CV to ever carry the stain of betrayal—neither against Ibrahim Geidam nor against the people of Yobe State,” he said, underscoring his belief that leadership must be rooted in accountability, conscience, and the fear of God.
