In every political era, there emerge leaders whose strength unsettles the status quo—not because they are loud or confrontational, but because they are truthful, disciplined, and unwilling to compromise the public good. Hon. Salisu Muktari belongs to this rare and principled class of leaders whose politics is anchored on integrity and whose service is driven by conscience.
In democratic governance, accountability is non-negotiable. Yet history has shown that the fiercest opposition is often reserved for leaders who refuse to play politics with truth. Hon. Salisu Muktari’s public life is a testament to this reality. His leadership has been guided not by expediency, but by sincerity of purpose and an unshakeable belief that public office is a trust to be honored, not exploited.
Truthfulness is the political identity of Salisu Muktari. In an environment where narratives are often manufactured and facts are bent to suit interests, he has remained consistent, transparent, and courageous. He speaks the truth without fear and takes decisions based on principle rather than pressure. This moral firmness, while earning him public respect, has also made him uncomfortable for those who thrive on disorder and personal gain.
Beyond truth, his politics is defined by selfless service. As Executive Chairman of the Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari has demonstrated that leadership is about people, not power. His focus has remained on peace, stability, grassroots inclusion, and the dignity of ordinary citizens. He governs with empathy, listens with humility, and acts with the understanding that governance must touch lives meaningfully.
His administration has prioritized community cohesion, collaboration with traditional institutions and security agencies, and policies that promote social harmony in one of the most commercially and politically strategic local governments in Yobe State. These efforts are not driven by political theatrics but by a genuine desire to serve and protect the collective interest.
Salisu Muktari’s simplicity is itself a political statement. In a system where power often creates distance between leaders and the people, he has remained accessible and grounded. He walks among his people, shares their concerns, and remains responsive to their needs. This closeness has earned him organic loyalty—support built on trust, not inducement.
It is no coincidence that leaders of integrity often face resistance. Truth threatens entrenched interests, and selfless service exposes the failures of selfish politics. Yet, history teaches us that such leaders are not weakened by trials; they are refined by them. Political storms do not erase credibility—they reveal it.
The people of Potiskum understand this clearly. They know their chairman’s record, character, and intentions. That is why, beyond propaganda and temporary controversies, the court of public opinion continues to stand firmly with him. In politics, public trust is the ultimate currency, and Hon. Salisu Muktari has earned it.
This is not just about one man; it is about the kind of politics we choose to promote. A politics of truth over deceit. A politics of service over self. A politics that places humanity above ambition.
We remain confident that history will be kind to Hon. Salisu Muktari. Leaders who stand on truth may be challenged, but they are never defeated. We pray that Almighty Allah continues to guide, protect, and strengthen him, and that his brand of principled, people-centered leadership continues to inspire a new generation of political actors committed to service, integrity, and the common good.
