The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, relocates 23 task force brigades, provide them with a large plot and surrounds it with a modern fence and other amenities to improve their operations.

Before their relocation, the 23 Task Force Brigade officers were staying at the Government Lodge (Rest House) in Potiskum after it was abandoned for years, which led to its deterioration over the years.

The fact that the place had become a community center and the chairman took the initiative to renovate the Government Lodge led to their relocation to Lailai to take them out of the community and provide them with a place that would be suitable for their work and modernize it.

"There is a danger of military personnel being in the middle of the community; it will be better if we provide them with a good and organized place outside the town to maintain the peace and security of our community.

"Wherever you go in Nigeria, you will find military barracks or accommodation outside the town because of the dangers and threats that their presence in the community poses, that is why we have taken the decision to move them from here to outside the town to ensure the peace and security and to give the officers the confidence to do their job properly." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari

The chairman also said that among the reasons why they had to be relocated was the rehabilitation and renovation of the Government Lodge in Potiskum LGA.

"We are now rehabilitating and renovating our Government Lodge, which is almost a thing that I have had in my mind since I was a Councilor in this Local Government Area, as it is our responsibility to provide accommodation owned by our local government." He added
