... This follows a months-long ban on land acquisition and temporary shops.

The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has led security forces to stop illegal land acquisition and temporary shops from being built on the cemetery wall near NEPA Power Station, Potiskum LGA.
The government has taken the decision to stop the illegal land acquisition and construction of shops on the cemetery following illegal land acquisition, which is against the law, as it poses a serious threat to the lives of the people living in the area, as it is close to the power station.
Furthermore, the establishment of shops in the area has also blocked the main water supply (drainage) of the local government, which is a serious threat that can cause flooding and cause disruption and losses to the residents of Potiskum.
Since the announcement, many have realized their mistakes and have withdrawn from the area to maintain law and order, with some even rebelling until the deadline expired last week.
The move is very timely and in line with the goals of improving the lives of the people and the social programs of Potiskum communities.
Kudos to the executive chairman for this wonderful job that has an impact on the lives of our communities.
