Hon. Salisu Muktari is Excavating a Sand-Blocked Road Linking Dogon Karfe to the General Hospital

The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has ordered the evacuation of sand that had obstructed the major road linking Dogon Karfe to the General Hospital in Potiskum, following concerns over road safety and access to essential services.
The road, which serves as an important link for residents and healthcare users, became partially blocked after heavy sand deposits covered a large section of the carriageway. The condition of the road restricted traffic movement and increased the risk of accidents, particularly for vehicles conveying patients to the General Hospital.
Acting on the directive of the Chairman, the Potiskum Local Government Area Sanitation Committee commenced the evacuation exercise to clear the affected section of the road. The operation is being carried out under the leadership of the Committee Chairman, Umar Eveth.
The exercise is also being supervised by the Potiskum LGA Health Supervisor, Hon. Musa Dahiru, to ensure that safety and environmental health guidelines are observed during the operation.
Residents and road users who spoke on the development welcomed the intervention, noting that the evacuation will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion along the route, and expressed optimism that the exercise would help reduce road accidents and ease access to the General Hospital.
Officials of the local government said the intervention forms part of ongoing efforts by the Hon. Salisu Muktari-led administration to address infrastructure-related challenges and promote public safety across Potiskum LGA.
