Governor Buni’s Response to Reassert Security Following Boko Haram Attack

The Yobe State Governor, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, has called for an immediate response to prevent the resurgence of terrorism in Yobe State following the attack by insurgents on personnel of the 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Yadi.
The governor said that peace must be ensured because it is an investment that everyone can be proud of, because any success can be possible as a result of peace and improved security.
He also assured the security agencies of full support to improve security operations across Yobe State.
"The state government is committed to working with the security agencies for us to have lasting peace and security across the state." Gov. Buni assured this to the acting chief of army staff.
The governor also called for enhanced land-air synergy in the fight against terrorism, the governor made this call when receiving the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, at the government house in Damaturu, Yobe State.
"The issue of security is a collective responsibility; we will do everything possible to ensure the success of the fight against insecurity." Governor Buni added.
Following the call and the attention paid by H.E. Gov. Buni, the Chief of Army Staff assured the governor that as security personnel, they will do everything possible to ensure lasting peace in Yobe State.
"We cannot afford to allow the Sahara experience in this country; we must collectively rise to the occasion to fight the ugly scourge.
"Having worked very hard and achieved peace in Yobe as a commander, I cannot sit and watch that peace erode as a chief of army staff now". COAS Assured.
