In a clear demonstration of leadership by example, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, personally renewed his National Driver’s License at the Damaturu Driver’s License Center, strictly following laid-down procedures.
Gov. Buni underwent full biometric capture and documentation like every other applicant and was issued a temporary license pending the production of his permanent card—underscoring the administration’s belief that compliance with the law applies equally to all, regardless of status or office.
Witnessing the exercise was Sulaiman A. Bakura, Executive Chairman of the Yobe State Internal Revenue Service, whose presence highlighted the state government’s coordinated institutional support for lawful processes and civic responsibility.
Gov. Buni’s action sends a strong message across Yobe: governance is anchored on integrity, accountability, and respect for due process. By choosing to queue, register, and comply without exemptions, the governor reinforced a culture where public trust is earned through personal example.
The National Driver’s License, issued under the Federal Road Safety Corps, is a secure biometric identification that validates driving competence, enhances road safety, and contributes to national security through reliable data capture.
The Yobe State Government urges all motorists to obtain or renew their licenses promptly, emphasizing that safer roads begin with lawful drivers.
As demonstrated by Gov. Buni, responsible leadership starts with obeying the rules—and when leaders lead right, society follows.
