ECHOES OF IDENTITY

In the mirror's gaze, a stranger's eyes
Reflect the soul's dark, uncharted surprise
Who are you? The question echoes through time
A quest for identity, a search to redefine
A girl, shrouded in mystery and pain
A silhouette of shadow that dance upon the wall
She searches for a glimpse of her true self
A reflection of her soul, a story waiting to unfold
DREAMS? Oh, the luxury of having a vision
A fleeting thought, a moment's peace, a decision
To hold onto hope, to cling to what's real
A beacon of light, a guiding star that shines and feels
Can she find purpose? Will she discover her true name?
A girl with no identity; a bearer of no selfhood or flame
A canvas waiting to be brushstrokes, a story waiting to unfold
A life waiting to be lived, a path waiting to be told
Then she ask again...
“Mirror, mirror, on the wall... Who am I? And what's my call?”
“Who are you, reflection before me?”
If only she could get her answer clear
And discover the truth that she holds dear
“WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?”
A voice with a curious stare
And she answers, with a voice that's clear and bright
“I am different, that's why I am unique, and that's my light.”
She smiles, and her true self takes flight.
