The Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari has delivered a strong message of confidence in the performance of the Mai Mala Buni–led administration, stressing that real development is measured by visible improvements in people’s livelihoods and the opportunities created for citizens to thrive.
Hon. Salisu Muktari stated that Gov. Buni’s administration has consistently demonstrated commitment to people-focused governance, with policies and programs deliberately designed to impact lives at the grassroots.
According to him, development must go beyond physical projects and be reflected in improved standards of living, economic empowerment, and social stability.
The chairman emphasized that consultation and inclusiveness remain central to his leadership philosophy, in alignment with the governance style of the state government, and explained that by listening to communities and incorporating their views into decision-making, development initiatives become more responsive, credible, and sustainable.
“When the voices of the people are heard, governance becomes purposeful and results-driven,” he noted.
Describing Potiskum as a strategic commercial hub, Hon. Salisu Muktari said its growth is vital to the wider socio-economic advancement of Yobe State and highlighted the continuous support and policy direction provided by the state government, which have helped strengthen local economies, encourage enterprise, and unlock the vast commercial potential of Potiskum.
Hon. Salisu Muktari reaffirmed that his administration is working in close partnership with the government of Yobe State to ensure that development efforts translate into measurable benefits for residents.
He also called on the people to sustain their trust and cooperation, expressing confidence that with purposeful leadership under Gov. Buni, Yobe State will continue to witness steady progress and inclusive growth.
