The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, defended/isolated tree felling for the better environment and health of Potiskum LGA community while renovating the government lodge of the local government area.
The executive chairman vowed that the health and well-being of the good people of Potiskum LGA is above all else. He chose to isolate the trees with a fence of buildings rather than have them felled to provide the good people of the LGA with a good management system to prevent the threat of deforestation.
The fact that tree felling has a serious impact on the environment and the health of our environments, which can lead to global warming, less air for the people to breathe, causing soil erosion and loss of shelter for people, made Hon. Salisu Muktari warn against the felling of trees across the entire Potiskum Local Government Area.
The Local Government Area Chairman has ordered that some trees be avoided while they are isolated with modern fences, giving them full opportunity to continue growing and reproducing in order to create a harmonious society and to maintain and improve health among the people while he was in the middle of the renovation of the Government Lodge of Potiskum Local Government Area.
This shows that the chairman respects health laws and follows a system that is suitable for the health and well-being of the good people of Potiskum as a whole because he testified that it will be more effective if we prioritize the health and well-being of the good people of our local government area above any other aspect of our efforts to address the problems of the community and provide comprehensive solutions as a sign of fairness and good governance.
"We must prevent the cutting of trees if possible, plant new ones, and improve the ones we have to provide our people with a better life and protect them from the adverse effects of climate change, which can threaten us all." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari
