The Yobe State Government has disclosed that the forthcoming 2026 budget will focus on accelerating economic growth, reducing poverty, and expanding infrastructure across the state, in line with Governor Mai Mala Buni’s vision of shared prosperity and inclusive progress.

According to official sources, the new fiscal plan will channel major investments into agriculture, solid minerals, and the real sector—key areas identified for creating jobs, boosting productivity, and generating wealth for Yobe citizens.

The administration is also prioritizing infrastructure development, noting that sustainable job creation depends on solid foundations such as good roads, markets, power, and social amenities. The 2026 budget will therefore emphasize capital projects that stimulate commerce and improve livelihoods across both rural and urban communities.

In addition to its economic agenda, the government is reaffirming its commitment to social inclusion and empowerment, ensuring that youths, women, and persons with disabilities have equal access to opportunities, training, and government support programs.

The Buni administration has consistently demonstrated a strong dedication to capital investment, achieving about 60 percent capital expenditure in the previous fiscal year. The 2026 budget is expected to maintain and surpass that record, with renewed focus on sectors that directly impact the lives of citizens.

Officials say the forthcoming budget represents a bold step in Governor Buni’s long-term mission to transform Yobe into a peaceful, self-reliant, and economically vibrant state driven by innovation, hard work, and shared opportunity.

“Buni’s Vision 2026—Advancing Growth, Empowering Every Citizen.”
