Yobe State has earned national acclaim under the leadership of His Excellency Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, following fresh rankings released by Statisense in the 2025 State Performance Index (SPI).
According to the report, Yobe placed 6th nationwide for the most affordable public healthcare in 2024 and 9th nationwide for affordable public basic education in 2024, the recognition spans all 17 Local Government Areas, underscoring the governor’s sweeping reforms in both sectors.
In healthcare, Governor Buni’s administration has rehabilitated and upgraded general hospitals, expanded primary healthcare centers, and strengthened maternal and child health services.
The government has also reinforced drug supply systems, ensuring affordable access to essential medicines for families across the state.
Education has witnessed equally impactful reforms; the renovation and construction of classrooms, provision of modern learning materials, training of teachers, and the implementation of school feeding programs have combined to ease the financial burden on parents while securing brighter futures for Yobe’s children.
Yobe’s dual achievement is not just about rankings but a testament to Governor Buni’s people-first leadership style, which prioritizes affordability, accessibility, and inclusivity in governance.
With these recognitions, Yobe today stands as a national model of progress—a state where healthcare and education are not luxuries but affordable rights secured under the stewardship of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
