Whispers from the Abyss: A Humanity in Crisis
I slept alone beneath a dimming sky,
Woke to silence, no reason why.
The air was heavy, the ground unsure,
A world once bright, now insecure.
The garden bloomed with roses and lilies,
But thorns replaced their scented beauty.
I traded truth for fleeting gold,
And lost myself in comforts cold.
The hood I ran to felt like home,
Yet left me empty, forced to roam.
They spoke with lips of poisoned grace,
But never saw my soul or face.
My vision blurred, my mission lost,
Chasing light came at a cost.
I built my walls to feel secure,
Only to find I was never sure.
I asked the stars to guide my path,
But silence met my aching wrath.
The moon I chased gave hollow light,
My soul grew weary in the night.
Where are the roses I once knew?
Where is the love that felt so true?
Now lilies fade, and lemons bloom,
My spirit drowned in quiet gloom.
The joy I sought has turned to war,
My heart and mind now battle sore.
I strayed from grace, dismissed the call,
And now I stumble, near to fall.
But even here on this cliff’s edge,
With crisis deep and broken pledge,
A whisper stirs within the dust,
A seed of hope, a chance to trust.
Perhaps the edge is where we see
The truth of what we’re meant to be.
Not lost, not doomed, but yet alive
Still here, still human, still can strive.
