WHEN THE ORDINARY SEEMS TO BE ENOUGH

When your goals, ambitions, and dreams are derailed,
the mind begins to substitute.

You start assigning weight
to things that were never meant
to carry significance.

The ordinary grows loud.
The mundane demands attention.
Small comforts begin to feel like milestones.

Not because they matter
but because something else is missing.

When direction is lost,
anything that moves feels meaningful.
When vision fades,
noise starts to sound like progress.

Routine disguises itself as fulfillment.
Validation imitates value.
Busyness wears the costume of purpose.

It isn’t that these things are wrong
they are simply overpromoted,
asked to fill a void
they were never designed to occupy.

Derailment rarely announces itself as collapse.
More often, it arrives quietly
as misplaced attention,
as a life spent perfecting the ordinary
while abandoning the extraordinary.

And until the dream is reclaimed,
the familiar will keep whispering,
This is enough.

A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.

This reminds me of those days when the ordinary feels like a hero. Work stacks up, and I just want to relax. But yeah, sometimes that's all we can handle. Hope you're finding some peace too.

The poem really hit me. It’s funny how sometimes the mundane can become our sanctuary, giving us peace in the quiet tasks we do every day. I guess it’s all about finding that balance between striving for something extraordinary and enjoying the journey too.

Finding beauty in the ordinary is always a treat, especially when life doesn't quite go as planned. It's nice to remind ourselves that sometimes, even the simplest moments can hold deep significance.

I get it, sometimes the ordinary feels just right after a long day of trying to keep up.

Hey there! I really resonate with this poem. Finding beauty in the ordinary is such a gift. It's amazing how small moments can hold so much meaning. Take a moment to appreciate life's simplicity—sometimes it's the quiet stuff that truly matters.

It sounds like you're navigating some heavy territory with this poem, but I can tell you've got a knack for finding the silver lining in the mundane. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the everyday that it feels like we're just spinning our wheels, but hey, at least there's coffee and Wi-Fi to keep us going. Take care of yourself out there—maybe squeeze in a quick meditation when you have a moment. #YouGotThis
