TWO IMPACTFUL YEARS OF LEADERSHIP AS MEMBER REPRESENTING ETHIOPE EAST STATE CONSTITUENCY AT THE DELTA 8TH ASSEMBLY.
To the glory of God, 13th June 2025 marks my two years anniversary as the Member representing Ethiope East Constituency at Delta State House of Assembly. Beyond being my second anniversary, it also doubles as our mid-term day as legislators.
Since June 13th 2023, when the Executive Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon (Elder) Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori proclaimed the 8th Assembly, after the mandate freely given by the good and reliable people of Ethiope East, I found favour in the sight of God and man, I was graciously nominated and subsequently confirmed as the Deputy Speaker of the 8th Assembly.
During my electoral campaigns, I made some achievable promises and with God on my side we have made some tremendous progress in the first budget circle towards fulfilling them with your overwhelming support.
Today, I'm here with notable milestones after reflection on my midterm assesment.
Today, with that mandate freely given we have been able to reintegrate Ethiope East Local Government in the mainstream of Delta State politics. We have been intentional in the effort to build a political bridge that will strongly connect Ethiope East Constituency and the state for the interest of our collective good. This single effort of yours has positioned Ethiope East at the state level and we are no longer at the back seat politically.
We are two years into the first tenure and we can attest that power has been given to the people of Ethiope East. Although, we may not be where we want/anticipated to be, but we are not where we used to be and we are strongly committed to do more in line with the Renewed Hope for MORE AGENDA slogan of this very government.
I have personally enjoyed the collaboration of the Executive Arm ably led by My Leader and Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Orohwedor Oborevwori. For this gesture, I pledge my total support with that of my constituents (as their mouth piece) whenever the need arises Your Excellency.
I also made a promise of hosting town hall meetings once in year to interact with you my constituent and since no one knows it all, to get first hand information on constituents basic and fundamental needs, suggestions to move forward and to also brief them of my stewardship on the mandate to represent you.
During our general empowerment programme at the Council Secretariat, I made known my intention of holding this year (2025) town hall meeting in June and we have already kick started the process before moving to the APC. So, for all inclusiveness and broader reach especially in my empowerment/grant programme there is need to shift the date which will be announced in due time.
Dear Constituent the mandate freely given by you, to be very fair is utilised as follows;
