“The Question Before Definition”

by SIMU

The night hums softly.
After that intimate silence,
a hand begins to trace
a searching pattern across the chest.

Eyebrows rise — curious, questioning.
Eyes look up,
carrying a million unspoken messages.

There is that sudden intake of breath.
Time holds its breath too.
Crickets form a symphony
for what feels like the dawn of creation.

And then, the stillness breaks —
soft voice, gentle tone,
but heavy with destiny:
“So, baby… what are we?”

Chairman blinks rapidly,
knowing this is no casual question.
This is the pivot —
the answer that decides
which waters the ship shall sail.

— A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.
