The Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has reinforced the primacy of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the party, not individuals, defines political direction, legitimacy, and engagement at all levels.
Speaking at the Potiskum LGA Secretariat, Hon. Salisu Muktari stated that all political activities must derive authority from the APC’s constitution, leadership, and internal processes, stressing that institutional discipline remains the backbone of the party’s cohesion and longevity.
The council chairman noted that political influence, experience, or popularity cannot substitute for party loyalty, warning that sustainable political relevance is achieved through alignment with party structure rather than personal positioning. He emphasized that the APC is built on hierarchy, consultation, and collective responsibility.
Drawing on more than 36 years of political experience, Hon. Salisu Muktari positioned obedience to party authority as a mark of political maturity, stating that neither seniority nor exposure grants license to bypass party organs, adding that respect for leadership and institutional order is essential for internal stability.
Hon. Salisu Muktari further maintained that any initiative, movement, or engagement carried out in the name of the APC must be rooted in the party’s recognized channels; according to him, the APC remains an organized political institution governed by rules, not an open arena for individual maneuvering.
Political analysts view the remarks as a strategic reaffirmation of party control and grassroots discipline, underscoring Hon. Salisu Muktari’s commitment to consolidating APC authority and internal unity in Potiskum and across Yobe State as political alignments continue to evolve.
